About This Project

This important research project is focused on the information and communication technologies (ICT) cluster in Silicon Valley.  The local workforce investment boards in the valley (including NOVA, work2future, San Mateo, and Santa Cruz) are collaborating on a comprehensive review of the current landscape of Silicon Valley’s ICT firms, their strategic advantages in ICT, and the corresponding workforce needs of the region.  This effort includes understanding economic, workforce, and policy issues facing the sector with the overall aim of providing workforce entities with the information they need to better serve their clients and the employer community.  The final study was released on July 19, 2011.  Community leaders responded to the study at a forum on September 29, 2011.

The workforce boards are now seeking information from stakeholders to update the study findings and seek opportunities to respond to the recommendations.
